Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) Richard Basa

• Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Basa retired from the U.S. Army after serving honorably 28 years of service as a Field Artillery soldier. He is a native of Saipan. He graduated from Marianas High School in 1981 and joined the U.S. Army two weeks after High School graduation.

• CSM Basa was the Senior Army Instructor for Tinian High School JROTC from September 23, 2009 to August 1, 2012. He is currently the Senior Army Instructor for Saipan Southern High School JROTC.

Sergeant First Class (Ret.) Deynarose Sunderland

- Sergeant First Class (SFC) Sunderland retired from the U.S. Army after honorably serving 21 years as a Signal soldier. She is a native of Saipan, graduated from Marianas High School in 2000.

- Sergeant First Class Sunderland entered the Army on 28 August 2000, where she attended the Basic Training Course at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gordon, Georgia, where she earned her Military Occupational Specialty as an Information Systems Operator Analyst.
